NSP Aloe Products Win Seal of ApprovalInternational Aloe Science Council Certifies Quality and Purity If you want some of the best aloe vera products in the world, look no further than Nature's Sunshine. But don't take our word for it. Just ask the International Aloe Science Council. Following a recent inspection of NSP's raw and finished aloe products, the IASC awarded those products the council's seal of approval, certifying the finest quality and purity. "Nature's Sunshine really does produce some of the best aloe products available," said Lynda Hammons, Vice President of Quality Assurance and Reg. Affairs. The IASC was formed 18 years ago and is located in Irving, Texas. Using scientific parameters, the council engages private laboratories to measure the quality of both harvested and processed aloe vera. Different forms of the plant (liquid, gel or powder) require different qualifying characteristics to be designated as certified. When a product has passed the tests, it receives a special seal of approval for the next 12 months. The product must be recertified annually. The IASC reserves the right, without warning, to visit any grower or manufacturer listed with the council. During visits, the IASC samples products to be sure they continue to meet stringent standards. "We make sure that the product is processed in a timely fashion, and we have markers and lab evaluations that certify that the product is pure and of the highest quality," said IASC Managing Director Gene Hale. "These evaluations include not only agricultural practices but also processing and storage practices." He said heavily adulterated commercial aloe products are common. "It is easily done," Mr. Hale said. "Since aloe is mostly water, this leaves the door wide open for unscrupulous merchants to increase their inventory by adding water, hoping no one will know. That's why we must first make sure the raw material is the right species of aloe, and that we inspect the whole process right through to the finished product." When it comes to quality and value, you can depend on Nature's Sunshine to provide you with the best products you can buy. Just ask the IASC. Posted: Sunday - September 28, 2008 at 04:20 PM |
